If you lose access to your account there are various ways you can recover your account, depending on your security settings.
From the Login page you can click the "Forgot Password" link to begin the password reset process.
Once clicked, you will be redirected to the password reset request page where you can enter your account email to receive the password reset email request. Enter your email, complete the Captcha, and click Submit.
Once you press the Submit button, if the email exists in our database for a user, you will be sent an email with a link to reset your password.
Click the "Reset Password" link and you will be redirected to the reset password form where you can set a new password for your account. Enter a valid password and confirm it, complete the captcha, and hit submit. This will reset your password and you will be redirected to the login screen to log into your account.
You should at this point be able to use your new password to login from the login screen. You will also receive an email confirming the password change was successful.
If you have lost access to your Two Factor Authentication (2FA) method, such as in the event of a lost or stolen phone, you have various options for recovery of your 2FA credentials depending on how you initially set up your 2FA system.
For Google Authenticator users, you can login to your Google account on a new phone or via a web browser extension and synchronize your authenticator data to the new device. This will allow you to receive authenticator codes and login to Powerchat once more.
For Authy users, various backup and recovery options exist and can be found here.
For other authenticator apps or services, please refer to their documentation or support staff to recover access to their authenticator service.
If none of these options worked, or if you still need support recovering account access please refer to the Last Resort Account Recovery section.
If you have lost access to your account and none of the automated account recovery settings have allowed you to access your account, you may contact us for support to verify your account identity. Account recovery at this point is not guaranteed and will be evaluated on a case by case basis depending on the level of information we are able to verify based on your submissions and your account details.
