Paid Text-to-Speech Overlay

A guide to setting up and understanding the TTS/Media overlay

Introduction

The Paid Text-to-Speech / Media Overlay offered by Powerchat is the best way to monetize your livestream as a small to medium creator. This allows your supporters to support you directly with monetary contributions that they see an immediate and live return on in the form of a Text-to-Speech or Media message.

This overlay also serves as the alertbox overlay for other alerts, like subscribers, followers, raids, etc.

Setting Up the Overlay

To add the overlay in whatever application you're using to stream, click the program you'll be using under the Streaming Configuration tab on the left. A great place to start is the Getting Started page if you're unsure.

Text-to-Speech Settings

All of the Text-to-Speech Settings are located on the TTS Settings Tab in the Powerchat Creator Dashboard. Here you can set prices, customizations, and moderation. The following is a list of explanations for the various settings:

• TTS Limit ($): The minimum price at which a Text-to-Speech message will trigger. For example, set to $3.00, a $3.00 paid message will show on screen and trigger Text-to-Speech. At the same time, a $1.00 paid message will display on screen, but not trigger Text-to-Speech.

• TTS Duration (seconds): The maximum amount of time a paid message will show on screen before it ends. Example: 40 seconds. If the message only takes 8 second to read, the alert will go away after 8 seconds. If it takes 60 seconds, the alert will end at 40 seconds in this example.

• Donation Amount (1, 2, 3, 4): These are suggested prices displayed on your Powerchat Paid Chat Page.

• Alert Image URL: The image that will be displayed when a paid message is sent. This is optional, but can be a static image or an animated .GIF.

• Alert Sound URL: The sound that will play when a paid message is sent. This is optional, but the URL should end in .mp3.

• Subscribe Image URL: The image that will be displayed when a subscription event occurs. This is optional, but can be a static image or an animated .GIF.

• Subscribe Sound URL: The sound that will play when a subscription event occurs. This is optional, but the URL should end in .mp3.

• Follow Image URL: The image that will be displayed when a follower event occurs. This is optional, but can be a static image or an animated .GIF.

• Follow Sound URL: The sound that will play when a follower event occurs. This is optional, but the URL should end in .mp3.

• Subscriber Color: The color of the name of a logged in Powerchat user who is subscribed to you and sends a Paid Chat Message.

• Donator Color: The color of the name of any user who sends a Paid Chat Message to you.

• Default TTS Voice: The default voice that will be used when someone sends a Paid Chat to you.

• Font: The font of your alertbox.

• Animation: The animation of alerts in your alertbox.

TOS Protection & Toggles

• TTS Blacklist Words: Allows you to blacklist words and phrases to protect against doxxing, as well as blocking specific words or phrases you don't want people to say. Powerchat is unique in that it allows creators to replace words and phrases with words and phrases of their choice. Example: racialslur:flowers would replace 'racialslur' with the word 'flowers'.

• Enable TTS Profanity Filter: Automatically uses the list we have created to block various slurs and profanity.

• Play TTS Title: Play the Username and Amount (Example: User sent $5.00), or just have it read the message only.

• Chat Select Voice Enabled: Allows users to select any voice they want to use, or limit them to only use the one voice you have set as the default voice.
