OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) is free and open source software for video recording and live streaming. It is the most popular desktop streaming software.
You will want to make sure you have visited the Settings tab in the Powerchat Creator Dashboard to customize your overlay settings. This is where you would set your Text-to-Speech price. For more information, visit the section of this knowledgebase.
Open OBS Studio and click the + icon in the Sources area under the stream preview.
On the menu that pops up, select 'Browser.'
Name the new source. This can be anything.
Add your Powerchat Alertbox Overlay URL. This will be https://powerchat.live/YOURUSERNAME/tts.
You can set the dimensions to whatever you wish. The default 800x600 is totally fine and looks great for the Alertbox overlay. With the additional options, some users do choose to select the 'Control audio via OBS' option. This is a totally optional way you can control the volume of the Powerchat Alertbox Overlay. We also recommend selecting the 'Shutdown source when not visible' option, as in the event that the Alertbox needs to be refreshed, this makes it as easy as clicking the 'eye' icon to hide the overlay, and then clicking it again to make it visible again.
Click the 'OK' button when you're finished. If you did everything correctly, you're ready to go. Send a test alert by navigating to the Testing tab in the Powerchat Creator Dashboard to make sure it's working correctly.
After adding the main Alertbox overlay, explore our various other overlay options to enhance your livestream. These are described in detail in the Overlay Configuration section of this knowledgebase. These are added to OBS Studio the same way you added the previous overlay. Feel free to play with the dimensions of the overlay to fit your needs.
