Getting Started

Adding Powerchat Overlays to your Stream

Determine What Software You're Using

The vast majority of streamers are creating content from their desk. In this section, you can see step-by-step guides on how to add Powerchat overlays to the most popular streaming software, including OBS Studio, Streamlabs Desktop, and Prism Live Studio. If you are using some other application to stream, a requirement is the ability to add Web Overlays. Many beginners use built-in web-based services and applications to start streaming, like the browser-based YouTube Studio which does not support adding any overlays.

One such web-based application we have been asked about in the past is StreamYard. The workaround is to create and join a StreamYard session, and capture the window with one of the applications above. In this case, the Powerchat overlays are operating in the streaming software, which is also where the streamer starts and stops the stream.

Using a mobile device is also a growing and popular method of livestreaming, specifically for In-Real-Life streaming. For this, reference the IRL Streaming section.
