Streamlabs Desktop is a very popular OBS Studio alternative.
Open Streamlabs Desktop and click the + icon in the Sources area under the stream preview.
On the menu that pops up, select 'Browser' and then 'Add Source.'
Name the new source. This can be anything.
Add your Powerchat Alertbox Overlay URL. This will be https://powerchat.live/YOURUSERNAME/tts.
You can set the dimensions to whatever you wish. The default 800x600 is totally fine and looks great for the Alertbox overlay. With the additional options, some users do choose to select the 'Control audio via Streamlabs Desktop' option. This is a totally optional way you can control the volume of the Powerchat Alertbox Overlay. We also recommend selecting the 'Shutdown source when not visible' option, as in the event that the Alertbox needs to be refreshed, this makes it as easy as clicking the 'eye' icon to hide the overlay, and then clicking it again to make it visible again.
Click the 'Close' button when you're finished. If you did everything correctly, you're ready to go. Send a test alert by navigating to the Testing tab in the Powerchat Creator Dashboard to make sure it's working correctly.
After adding the main Alertbox overlay, explore our various other overlay options to enhance your livestream. These are described in detail in the Overlay Configuration section of this knowledgebase. These are added to Streamlabs Desktop the same way you added the previous overlay. Feel free to play with the dimensions of the overlay to fit your needs.
Using Streamlabs Desktop, you have the option to use native Streamlabs overlays with Powerchat via the Streamlabs Integration option. This gives you the alternative to login to Streamlabs Desktop with your Streamlabs account, and use the included overlays they provide instead of the native Powerchat overlays. You may choose to do this, though we prefer you use our overlays.
There have been two (2) documented cases of a user who was using Streamlabs Desktop where the native Powerchat overlays we provide were not functioning correctly, and those users chose to use the Streamlabs Integration option for this reason as a workaround. Powerchat staff have been unable to reproduce these issues, and it is assumed these issues are related unique plugins those users were using.
